Sea-Doo - Passenger Seat May Unlatch from Watercraft - Risk of Being Ejected with Seat

 

  Dear BRP Customer, 

 

BRP is sending you this notice in accordance with the requirements of Transport Canada, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and other applicable laws. BRP is conducting a safety recall. 

 

Our records show that you own a potentially affected watercraft.

 

What is the potential problem?

The passenger seat may unlatch from the watercraft. If this happens, the passenger may unexpectedly fall in the water, and this could cause serious injuries or even death. 

 

Which models are involved? 

  • Models with a passenger seat from the factory: Model Year 2021-2022 GTI, GTR, Wake 170 and Fish PRO Scout Sea-Doo watercraft

  • Models that may have a passenger seat purchased as an accessory: Model Year 2021 and 2022 RXP Sea-Doo watercraft

What should you do?

If your watercraft has a passenger seat:

  • Contact your authorized BRP Sea-Doo dealer to schedule an appointment to have the safety recall performed on your watercraft at no cost to you.

  • The dealer will inspect the passenger seat and, if necessary, repair it. 

  • This action will take less than 1 hour to complete.

  • Until you have the recall performed, you need to remove the passenger seat from the watercraft before riding.

 

If your watercraft does NOT have a passenger seat:

  • Your watercraft does NOT need to have this safety recall performed. 

 

What to do if you feel you have received this notice by mistake?

This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available.

If you no longer own this watercraft or some information regarding your name or address are incorrect, please contact BRP at your earliest convenience.
