Excellence in Design Award (2011) 2011 Excellence in Design Awards by Trailer Boats Magazine Trailer Boats magazine named the new Sea-Doo GTI SE 130 their PWC category Excellence in Design winner, with the editorial staff noting, “…the craft offers a new playful hull that provides a dry ride as well as excellent handling in and out of turns. With the new Sea-Doo GTI SE 130 PWC, BRP offers a premium watercraft at an entry-level price,” the staff concluded. Trailer Boats magazine also named the new Sea-Doo 230 SP boat as the sport jet Excellence in Design winner for offering a strong family fun boating package. The editorial staff said, “Overall, BRP has designed a boat that offers comfort for the entire family with the ability to create even more fun on the water, which is why its new Sea-Doo 230 SP boat earned this year’s award.” BRP's Sea-Doo 230 SP boat is a full-size, family runabout designed for water sports that seats 12 comfortably and is as much fun to drive as it is to wakeboard behind. The twin Rotax supercharged 4-TEC engine package powers the direct-drive, jet-propulsion system providing immediate throttle response and sports-car-like handling. Its hull is designed to efficiently and effortlessly smooth out choppy waters and is tuned to offer a well-shaped wake for board sports. BRP’s 230 SP boat is also equipped with iTC, including Ski mode, Docking mode, and ECO mode.

PWC of the year (2011) Ultra-popular personal watercraft forum PWCToday.com recently named the Sea-Doo GTI as the website’s first-ever PWC of the Year. The award, presented by Watercraft Superstore, will be presented to manufacturer Bombardier Recreational Products on Thursday, February 17th at 2 PM at the Miami International Boat Show in Booth D72. The 2011 GTI will also be featured in the Watercraft Superstore annual publication, which mails this Spring. According to John Salvatore, Chairman of the Selection Committee, two craft stood out from the pack for the award. Their names came as no surprise to me — the GTI and Yamaha’s new VXR. Ultimately, however, the GTI took the title, thanks in large part to its mainstream appeal. “The 2011 Sea Doo GTI 130 has a number of innovative features that were only available on much more expensive watercraft in the past,” explains Salvatore. “In particular, the brake and reverse controls on the handlebar are completely intuitive and make riders feel much more at ease.”

iBR - Improving boating safety (2009) The United States Coast Guard Office of Auxiliary and Boating Safety recognizes Bombardier Recreational Products today with its Boating Safety Award. This iBR (intelligent brake and reverse) braking innovation adds tremendously to the safety provided by the off-throttle and off-power steering systems that have been introduced to the personal watercraft arena. It allows the operator to stop the personal watercraft within a remarkably shorter distance and maintain much better control of the vessel.

iCatch trailer innovation award (2010) On February 15, BRP was a double winner at the 2010 National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Awards ceremony at the Miami International Boat Show. BRP is the only company to win two NMMA Innovation Awards in the same year, receiving the award in the PWC, Jet Boats, and Pontoon Boats category for its 2010 Sea-Doo RXT-X 260 watercraft and the award in the Water Sports and Equipment category for its Advanced TEC iCatch PWC trailer.
