SEA-DOO X-TEAM DOMINATES AT IJSBA WORLD FINALS, WINNING 16 OF 19 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sea-Doo® RXP™-X™ dominates starting lines at 2008 World Finals as Franky Zapata claims Pro GP title.

Lake Havasu, Arizona, USA – October 14, 2008 - Sea-Doo watercraft mounted racers dominated the 2008 IJSBA World Finals winning 16 of the possible 19 championships*. The Sea-Doo X-TEAM filled the starting line in nearly every runabout class during the week of racing, highlighted by Franky Zapata of France claiming the 2008 Pro GP Runabout title aboard his 90+ mph modified Sea-Doo RXP™. Racers from all corners of the world were represented at this year’s championships and most of them choose Sea-Doo as their watercraft of choice and claimed 44 of the possible 57 podium positions available.

The strong contingent of international Sea-Doo X-TEAM racers reinforced the winning capabilities of the new, race-inspired 255hp Sea-Doo RXP™-X™, as it proved to be the watercraft of choice at this year’s World Finals. The Expert Limited class epitomized the dominance of the RXP-X in which 10 of the 14 competitors straddled the silver and orange X-TEAM watercraft claiming the top five finishing positions.

In the IJSBA Women's class, Kylie Ellmers from Melbourne (Australia) defended her title grabbing first place for the second consecutive year on a Sea-Doo RXP-X. With each class so hotly contested, this is a huge achievement and a testament to Kylie's ability and Sea-Doo technology.

Also grabbing a podium finish was Anthony Antees from Queensland (Australia) who finished second in the Pro Open Runabout class on a Sea-Doo GTI™. Antees remarks, "The success I have had racing for Sea-Doo is a testament to the quality of the engine platform and the hull design. To gain support from a company, as passionate about the sport as we are, makes the job that much easier." Sam Harvey from Auckland New Zealand, also riding on a Sea-Doo GTI, finished closely behind Antees in third place.

The IJSBA World Finals is the biggest watercraft specific event in the world and attracts the best watercraft racers in the world who pilot some of the latest in watercraft performance technology.

BRP would like to congratulate the following racers who have chosen to ride Sea-Doo watercraft and are new IJSBA World Champions.

To compete against factory race teams as independent racers and still grab podium finishes is a major achievement. The success of Sea-Doo racers at the IJSBA World Finals is testament to their ability and the Sea-Doo product. With an innovative hull design and closed loop cooling system, Sea-Doo PWC's boast more raw power and torque than anything else on the market.
