Cracks or breaks can develop in the welded joints of the tower attachment ends above the upper rear leg attachment points which, in rough water or towing conditions, can allow the tower to disengage from the rear legs. If this occurs, the tower could then fall onto the boat and its occupants, potentially resulting in serious injuries or death.
Some pieces of the air box may detach. This may allow broken pieces to be drawn to the throttle body and in some cases, could prevent the throttle plate from returning completely to idle position, potentially leading to an unexpected failure to decelerate when the throttle lever is returned to the idle position. This situation could cause a collision with bystanders, a fixed object or another vehicle and potentially cause serious injuries or even death.
