RXP BACKS UP TITLE AS 2005 MUSCLECRAFT SHOOTOUT WINNER

MELBOURNE, FL - MAY 4, 2005 - The 215 HP Sea-Doo® RXPT has recently been named the winner of the 2005 Personal Watercraft Illustrated Musclecraft Shootout.  This is the second consecutive year that the RXP has taken the top spot in the magazine's exhaustive test of the industry's elite high-performance watercraft. The test consisted of a week full of gruelling head-to-head evaluations and comparisons of the Kawasaki® STXRT, Honda® R-12XT, the Yamaha® GPR 1300T, in addition to the winning Sea-Doo RXP.

Personal Watercraft Illustrated is well known for conducting arguably the most thorough testing of products in the marine media. This years test included a 42-mile, open-ocean, break-in ride from Long Beach to Catalina Island. This was followed by hours on a buoy course at Long Beach Marine Stadium. Then acceleration and top speed testing was done using a radar gun/laptop program. Fuel consumption and sound tests were conducted in addition to overall seat-of-the-pants evaluations from the magazine's staff in addition to the staff from Cycle News.

When the spray cleared and the wakes settled, the RXP was named Musclecraft Shootout Winner. When discussing the choices that lay in front of the editors, they made their decision using these words, ". . . there was one craft that stood head and shoulders above the rest, and that is the best all-around craft, the Sea-Doo RXP."

The RXP was praised for its strong acceleration and," it is one of the most fully loaded craft, with reverse, trim, decent storage, etc. The ergonomics on the RXP are also pretty good, and its handling abilities are strong in both rough and smooth water." As quoted from the article, Brute Force appearing in the June issue.

BRP has always been a leader in performance technology and design and the Sea-Doo RXP is true to BRP form. Available in Apple Green and Viper Red Metallic, the 2005 Sea-Doo RXP exudes power from its design queues borrowed from classic muscle cars.  With 215 HP from a Supercharged 4-TECT engine with Intercooler the RXP leaves little doubt to why it is king of muscle beach.
